Earth Hour

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is WWF’s largest initiative to raise awareness on climate change.

Objectives of Earth Hour

The objective of Earth Hour is to get as many individuals, businesses and households around the world to turn off their lights and electrical appliances for one hour. It aims to educate the global community about the threats of climate change and how easy it is for individuals and businesses to make small changes to the way they live and operate- small changes that will make a big difference. It hopes to deliver a global mandate for environmental reform to world leaders attending the UN Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen, December 2009, to strike up a new global climate deal to usurp Kyoto.

The shot signifies anger. The wick is angry. It holds the flame, the flame is nothing without the wick; yet the wick is forgotten as it is black and ugly while the flame is bright and beautiful.

There is still a ray of hope, all is not lost, let’s conserve energy.

In support of earth hour. My candle to light up the future.
