Who needs words to communicate!

hi there

That’s my son with an Italian kid at a restaurant. We were there to celebrate my wife birthday. The two of them filled the lobby with infectious laughter and lots of gibberish chatter. It was an immense stress buster for all waiting for their food.

Now, these two ‘unknown’ kids, who did not speak each others language – communicated with ease. They knew who was chasing whom. They knew not to ‘hurt’ each other. They knew ‘when to back off’. Lessons that we as adults forget or prefer to overlook.

Why do we kill the child in us, why do portray authority, why do need to wear a mask all day long. Why?

As kids we know what and how much to ‘share’, as adults this is an exercise we need to be taught, or rather, re-told. As kids, we focus on what we have and enjoy every bit of it, as adults we focus on what we don’t have, and feel bad about every bit of it!

The kids taught me to be myself and feel bloody good about it! The kids taught me to be open and accepting. The kids taught me to be fair and square. The kids taught me to be fearless.

Sad that a ‘2 year old punk’ taught me that! But that’s the truth.

So guys! have fun and be happy as that is all that is in your control, actually that is all the control that you’d ever need. The rest is just a mask, so why bother
