Self Empowerment

Wrote this for Shikha… she makes me write about all weird things…:)
She cooks so…. 🙂

You’ll be a Man!

A man you ask??

More than once in a while, many of us feel helpless and demand control over our lives. Self-help books claim they can teach us to empower ourselves, Overnight!
Talk shows, success coaching sessions and people across our wall inspire us to do something worthwhile with our lives.
But, after a few hours of adrenaline boost, we often feel helpless again and are back to zero.

First things first, let’s redefine the meaning of self-empowerment. Self-empowerment comes from one’s inner self. One is said to have self-empowerment when he or she realizes and acknowledges that the authority to lead the journey of his or her own life is nobody else but him or herself. Nobody has full control of where the river of life takes him or her to, but one can always take control of the quality of gracefulness to project in the journey.

If you can keep your wits while others lose theirs;
If you can wait, tirelessly;
If you can dream, yet not make it your master;
If you can bear to hear the truth;
If you can treat your winnings and losing in the same fashion;
If neither your friends and foes can hurt you;
If your will power is greater than your won’t power…

You’ll be a Man!
